God’s People. God’s House.

“They will rebuild the ancient ruins and RESTORE the places long devastated; they will renew the ruined cities that have been devastated for generations.”

– Isaiah 61:4 –

Welcome to RESTORE

God has called us to be a light in the heart of our nation’s capital, a church committed to making disciples who love, think, and act like Jesus. We’ve long prayed DC would be known less for politics and more for God’s presence.

Now, God has miraculously answered by providing us a permanent home in the heart of the city. As we celebrate our 15th anniversary, we’re stepping into a new two-year season called RESTORE—a generosity initiative to restore God’s People and God’s House. Together, we will renovate the historic building entrusted to us and fuel our mission to see lives transformed by the gospel.

We invite you to pray, dream, and step out with us in faith as God restores His people and His house for His glory.

Together in the Gospel,
Pastors Aaron & Amy Graham

Vision

The vision of The District Church has always been to impact our city for Christ one neighborhood at a time. We continue to stand firm in this vision and pursue the mission we believe God has given us to make disciples who love, think, and act like Jesus right here in the nation’s capital.

We believe God is equipping us to step more boldly into this vision in the next two years by establishing a permanent home on 16th St. This permanent home requires much restoration and will give us a greater opportunity to reach our city and the DMV than ever before, signaling that we are here for good.

Restore God’s People

Restore God’s People ($9M)

Restore people to a relationship with God

Our mission is ultimately about people learning to love, think, and act more like Jesus.

This will fund two years of our annual ministry budget, which includes all of our discipleship and family ministry. This will help us increase resources to invest in the next generation of children, youth, and college students.

This includes all of our outreach giving as well, but with an increased local focus in this season. We will expand our outreach, particularly in Columbia Heights, NoVa, and MD.

Restore God’s House ($7M)

Renovation funds for National

The donation of the historic National building to us to restore is a miracle in the making. Not only will this provide a permanent church home for us a block from where we currently meet, it will provide an opportunity for us to serve the community throughout the week.

It was said in 1907 during one of the first worship services at National Baptist Memorial Church—that “this would be the birthplace of many souls into the Kingdom of God.”

We believe that is a word for us as well; that this piece of land now entrusted to us would be the birthplace of many souls into the Kingdom of God!

We are praying for this historic church that is in ruins to be restored for His glory.

This will enable us to have a premier worship and event space in the heart of the city, a place for expanded family ministry, a childcare center, and an outreach center to serve the community.

Restore God’s House

Our Goal $16 Million Over Two Years

To Restore God’s People and God’s House.

How this Works

The Restore Initiative is a two-year journey of faith and generosity. Every gift given during this time will support both our ongoing ministry efforts and the future vision God has placed before us. Rather than separating these priorities, they will be unified under a single budget.

What’s Next?

We’re inviting you to prayerfully join us on a spiritual journey, to take a sacrificial step of generosity, as together we respond to God’s call with the greatest step of faith we’ve ever taken.
